Lilly Broadcasting is expanding its Washington D.C. bureau.

Reporter Brendan Scanland will join television journalist Rachel Knapp at the bureau’s office on Capitol Hill.

For the past two years, Scanland has covered government and politics for the company from the Pennsylvania Capitol in Harrisburg.

Prior to joining Lilly Broadcasting, Scanland was a summer news associate in Washington.

Knapp has served as Lilly’s correspondent on Capitol Hill since 2021.

Scanland and Knapp will cover legislators from home states and districts where the company operates television and radio stations. The company believes reporting the votes and policy positions of elected leaders is essential to serving the public interest.

The Washington bureau provides news content for the company’s stations in Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and the Caribbean. In addition to Washington, Lilly Broadcasting operates full-time bureaus at the Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York state capitols.
