Erie News Now and HAPPI 927 have been honored with 2023 Excellence in Broadcasting awards from the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters (PAB).

Erie News Now's Tall Ships Erie 2022 coverage was recognized with a judges' merit award.

The station broadcasted the event's Festival of Sail live as the fleet of tall ships made their way into the bay for a four-day maritime celebration.

Erie News Now sports anchor and reporter Isaac Petkac's story "Saving the Memories: An Assist from Above" won outstanding television feature story/report/series.

It shares the story of Erie Otters forward Elias Cohen who struggled to balance playing the game he loves and grieving the loss of his mentor and first-ever coach – his father - who passed away two months into the 2021-22 season.

Erie News Now's sister station - HAPPI 927 - also earned an award for outstanding radio promotional announcement.

The entry showcased the imaging used on-air to promote HAPPI 927 being voted best radio station seven years in a row and morning personality Sammy Stone's back-to-back awards for best local radio personality in the Erie Reader.
