Erie News Now partnered with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwestern PA for our 18th annual food drive. This year, the food drive was hosted at 11 locations across Northwest Pennsylvania.

Overall, the drive resulted in more than 35,000 pounds of food, $41,355 and 470 turkeys donated in 12 hours.

According the Second Harvest Food Bank's fact sheet, they can provide five meals to people in need for every one dollar donated. That means the pantry will be able to provide 206,775 meals to locals in need this Thanksgiving.

All of the items donated will go directly to food pantries in the areas where the food was collected and directly help people in the Northwest Pennsylvania community.
